We are currently working with a prominent Telecoms firm who are looking for a highly skilled Senior Network Mobile Engineer to come in and hit the ground running!
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead the day-to-day operations of our Mobile Core systems (HLR/HSS, STP/DRA, PGW, IMS) and connectivity management platform (Radius, OCS, BSS).
* Take ownership of the underlying infrastructure (Switching, Routing, Data Center, and Servers) that supports our network platforms.
* Oversee the monitoring of performance and availability of network services, proactively investigating and resolving issues to maintain optimal performance.
* Lead infrastructure and network projects to expand network footprint, enhance services, and integrate with partners as required.
* Mentor and guide junior team members, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, working closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and suppliers to ensure seamless operations.
* Ensure compliance with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards relevant to mobile network operations.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all network systems and processes, ensuring accessibility and clarity for team members.
Requirements:
* Proven experience maintaining networks in production and mission-critical environments, preferably within the mobile or telecommunications industry.
* Strong understanding of telecom protocols used in mobile networks, including SS7, GTP, Diameter, MAP, CAMEL, AAA, SMPP, SIP, VoLTE, etc.
* Expertise in network and service monitoring best practices and automation tools (Grafana, SNMP, Syslog, etc.).
* Knowledge of mobile network elements from design and integration to operation and management, such as HLR/HSS, PGW/GGSN, STP/DRA, IMS, SMSC, etc.
* Strong understanding of core network protocols (IPv4, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) with experience in vendor technologies like Cisco, Nexus, and Fortinet.
* Experience with Linux (Ubuntu, HAProxy) and Microsoft (IIS, MS-SQL) server administration.
* Knowledge of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
* Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
