Overview of the Job
Through programs, outreach efforts, and relationship-building, youth and community workers are in charge of involving, empowering, and supporting youth and community members. By establishing secure environments, providing direction, and organising events that cater to the needs and goals of both people and groups, they seek to advance social, spiritual, and personal growth. In order to address neighbourhood challenges, promote positive lifestyles, and cultivate inclusivity, resilience, and personal development, this function entails working in conjunction with schools, families, neighbourhood organisations, and faith-based institutions.
Duties
* Plans social, recreational, and educational events for youth groups and the surrounding community.
* Oversees the daily operations of community centres and the work of volunteer and part-time employees.
* Coordinates and assists volunteers who lead groups in places of worship such as churches, mosques, and village halls.
* Uses structured group discussions, individual therapy, or informal conversations to offer advice to people with specific needs or issues.
Requirements:
* A degree or diploma in education, theology, social work, youth work, community development, or a similar university degree.
* Candidates must hold a Level 2 or Level 3 National Youth Agency-accredited qualification. There are also apprenticeships available.
* Demonstrated expertise working professionally or as a volunteer with youth and/or community organisations.
* Strong knowledge of risk management, safety regulations, and youth development concepts.
* Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities.
* Capacity to plan, coordinate, and direct seminars, community events, and group activities.
* Awareness of the spiritual, emotional, and social issues that communities and youth face.
* You have to be older than twenty-one.
* A DBS check and other background checks will probably be necessary.
