About the role: We are currently looking for a Hydraulics Technician to join our established engineering team. The successful candidate will primarily work from our Heathrow site but will also support our engineering teams across other locations from time to time sometimes travelling to other UK airports outside of Heathrow. A varied role, works will mainly be hydraulic in nature but there will be mechanical, pneumatic and electrical aspects to consider. Day to day tasks will consist of delivering planned maintenance to aircraft ground support equipment and tooling with a mixture of workshop activities and onsite maintenance. Main duties: Delivering planned maintenance activities to various types of aircraft equipment and tooling Effectively fault find and problem solve a variety of issues on hydraulic equipment occasionally including mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems. Equipment types include jacks and lifting equipment, fluid dispensers, hydraulic rigs and servicing carts amongst a wide variety of others Undertaking repairs and testing to various types of aircraft equipment and tooling Reading engineering drawings and manuals to support fault-finding and identifying spare parts Provide technical support to other colleagues if necessary, either over the phone or in person Prepare risk assessments, method statements and all aspects relating to Health and Safety on site Working as part of a wider technical team Supporting work activities at other airports or UK sites as required from time to time Work closely with the Operations Team to ensure jobs are accepted, understood, implemented and closed down efficiently and accurately What we are looking for in our candidates: We value a positive personality and can-do attitude over experience. Excellent planning and organisational ability with an analytical approach to problem solving Experienced with IT, demonstrating ability in MS Office - including Email, Outlook, Word and Excel Proven experience in hydraulics or a similar role Strong technical knowledge of machinery and equipment Hydraulic systems knowledge including the ability to read Hydraulic Circuit Diagrams Electrical and pneumatic systems skills highly beneficial Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and travel to customer sites as needed Good at communicating with people at all levels Additional Information: Travel between sites may be a requirement from time to time Full clean driving licence (manual gearbox) Must have right to work in the UK Must be able to gain an airport pass therefore clean personal record and ability to show previous work/educational history up to 5 years prior with references.
