Major Gifts Fundraising Executive – Part-time
Contract 6 – 9 months
Part-time; 2 – 3 days a week can be considered
Hybrid working, home and London office
Salary £40k - £45k full time equivalent, will be pro rata
This is an exciting opportunity to join an independent school’s development office during a period of working on a large eight figure fundraising campaign. It will be a great opportunity for someone who wants to build their experience working with HNWI. You will be an experienced mid-level fundraiser, ideally with experience of major gifts work and direct engagement with fundraising prospects.
Key Duties:
1. Support campaign preparation—supporting director with prospect outreach and engagement, working through prospects over an agreed period to help ascertain their propensity towards and interest in supporting the organisation and fundraising campaign.
2. Undertake work with the agreed portfolio of prospects across to engage them with initiatives and fundraising opportunities.
3. Work with the Database & Operations Manager to build prospect profiles and engagement/solicitation plans.
4. Work with colleagues in the Development Office and across the school to help develop prospect engagement.
5. Work alongside the Senior Development Manager (who is broadly responsible for regular giving) to get initial donations to agreed fundraising appeals and grow constituent participation in giving.
6. Work with the Director of Development where there is potential more immediately to engage prospects with major giving opportunities.
7. Support other, associated activities including fundraising engagement events.
8. Support the Director of Development with other campaign/major gifts work as it arises.
Skills/Experience Required:
1. Experience of working as a major gifts fundraiser/building 1-1 relationships.
2. Able to use own initiative to prioritise work with an agreed portfolio of prospects.
3. Highly organised.
4. Target driven.
5. Willingness to travel within the UK.
6. Credible with a wide range of people and able to undertake work with individual supporters with tact, diplomacy and discretion.
7. Strong knowledge of fundraising practice and associated regulations e.g. GDPR.
8. Experience of working with a fundraising CRM system e.g. the Raiser’s Edge.
