The company I am working with are looking to add an Electrical Quantity Surveyor to their team in the Swansea area to help manage the commercial aspects of their social housing contracts throughout the Wales region. You will be contributing towards the overall project success by maximising profit, overseeing accurate financial controls and cost control alongside producing reports. They can provide good progression opportunities and support with qualifications.
The salary for this role is £42,000 - £50,000.
Skills needed in the Electrical QS role:
Strong knowledge of various forms of Contract; such as JCT, NEC & FIDEC
Experience in dealing with social housing contracts is highly desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good analytical skills
Strong interpersonal, organisational and time management skills
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as a part of a team
Responsibilities of the Electrical QS role:
Successfully deliver the projects by controlling costs, progressing monthly valuations, and managing variations
Engage with suppliers & sub-contractors to establish and maintain competitive tenders for each project
Carry out on-site measurements of works to help ensure agreement among all parties
Review & collate subcontractor packages and all relevant documentation to a high standard
Reconcile cost and value to date and forecast to inform management of project performance
Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with construction professionals and ensure completion of actions
