Lead Technical Manager Job Description Mission statement To be the example of technical excellence and lead by example on the JLL Virtus account. Responsibilities: This position will ensure high quality and consistent delivery of hard services across Data Centre sites. The role will have specific responsibility for the management of key technical services. The role will involve continuous improvement, day-to-day facilities coordination, and mobilisation of new sites. Direct reports include cluster technical managers, Authorising Engineers, and customer demand project team. We are looking for an assertive candidate who can communicate effectively and cross-functionally to understand business needs, problem-solve and deliver facilities solutions that are both high-quality and cost-effective. ‘Business first’ and ‘Getting it done’ are the most important JLL Leadership Capabilities we’re looking for. Technical Management Duties: • Establish open and transparent relationships with client Plant Managers, Area and Site FM managers, and business partners such as EHS and Quality leads, to establish trust and credibility in the delivery of JLL’s services. • Deliver against the set KPI’s around down time, costs, maintenance, and process compliance, and secure continuous improvements in each of the KPI area’s • Is proactive through securing in-depth root cause corrective actions, propose continuous reliability improvements and the implementation of audits • Help drive and promote a safety culture, identify good catches and near misses with all JLL, client teams and supply chain partners. • Manage quality compliance (regulatory, client and JLL) for all systems and processes in JLL scope of works. Consults with the EHS and Quality teams. • Review and adopt successful strategies from other JLL-managed data centres Implement JLL's standardised procedures for facility management and maintenance. Utilise JLL's proprietary tools and software for asset management and performance monitoring to improve upon sustainability and efficiency. • Ensure the Safe Systems of Work governance, process and procedure are trained, implemented, operated, and upheld to the highest standard. • Provide technical oversight to internal resources • Develops and manages technical training • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with the safe systems of work and to identify opportunities for improvement in areas of engineering excellence. • Energises and inspires technical and site teams. • Develops and maintains competence and credibility • Regularly convene technical meetings with major OEM service and equipment providers in our supply chain to foster innovation, address obsolescence, and uphold technical excellence. These collaborative sessions ensure we stay at the forefront of industry advancements, proactively manage equipment lifecycles, and continuously enhance our data centre operations. • To provide out of hours support for incident management and escalation. • Provide technical support to the fleet, in line with ongoing key contract deliverables. • Excellent people skills with the ability to lead a team, investigations and manage projects Stay updated with industry standards. Participate in industry forums and conferences to stay abreast of emerging trends. Requirements Essential: Degree in Engineering, or a related field, technically qualified professional engineer, inclusive of excellent working knowledge of buildings services installations Experience as a service provider, in setting up constructive client relations, delivering of facilities contracts and the related P&L An analytical thinker with capability and experience to work with a wide range of stakeholders. Hands-on if required; reputation for delivering results. Strong communicator, both verbally & written, in English Authorising engineer for Mechanical Pressure Systems, Petroleum, Confined space or Electrical Systems.
