Description
EUBC are seeking a Head Coach for our Women’s 2nd team, who compete in BUCS Scottish Tier 1. We are looking for an experienced, committed and approachable coach to lead the team to push for the league title. The role involves the planning and delivery of 2 weekly training sessions and the leading of a weekly match.
At the University of Edinburgh, we pride ourselves on our strong standing in the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS), ranking 5th in the UK and 1st in Scotland for overall sporting achievements, as well as 1st in Scotland for basketball. With a history spanning 75 years, our club continues to grow, welcoming players from diverse backgrounds all around the world. We currently have 4 Men’s, 3 Women’s, and 1 development team, with a total of around 130 members. All teams but the development team play in BUCS leagues with our Women’s 1st team competing in the highest league in the UK, BUCS Premier North. The W1 also compete in the Basketball Scotland National League. In the 2022/23 season, both our Men’s and Women’s first teams were crowned Scottish Student Sport champions, with our girls maintaining that spot in the 2023/24 season and our men’s making another finals appearance. This allows us to showcase the club on the biggest University Basketball stage in Scotland.
Recognising our achievements, EUBC was awarded Club of the Year by the University’s Sports Union for our sporting performance and development through the club’s introduction of 2 new teams for the 2023/24 season (Men’s 4 and Development team). An award like this recognises the efforts made towards the club’s development and expansion, whilst still maintaining a high level of performance.
