Warehouse Coordinator | Mitcham, Surrey | Full Time - 38 Hours per week | £24,127 per year Our client is one of the world’s largest suppliers of unsaturated polyester resins for composites and a leading supplier of coating resins for a wide variety of markets and applications. They have an exciting opportunity available for a full-time Warehouse Coordinator to join their team. The position is a temporary appointment with a high possibility of converting to a permanent role. The role involves shift work, so the successful candidate must be local to the plant. Experience working in a chemical/hazardous (or similar manufacturing) environment Good teamwork skills Ability to work independently Ability to work under own initiative. Good problem solving skills. Understanding of chemical hazards Ability to document and communicate clearly. Active listener and good observation skills Studied to GCSE or equivalent Trained as a forklift truck driver Basic ICT literacy is preferred Must be capable of understanding and interpreting various chemical hazards, Hazard symbols and UN numbers Previous experience working in a Chemical Plant is preferred Appropriate training as a Banksman is preferred What will your role look like? Collection of packed finished goods from the plant. Inspection of all the packed containers for integrity and soundness, so that they are safe for road transport Inspection of all the filled containers for accuracy of product and hazard identification labelling Stacking of finished goods containers in the designated bays in the yard and warehouse Organise raw material containers in the warehouse/yard and transport to production areas whenever required Storing flammable liquids and other identified raw materials in the flammable cabinets Pasting all required stickers and labels onto the containers, ready for dispatch. Preparation of delivery notes for shipments Inspecting the collection and delivery documents for vehicles coming on site for the collection of packed goods Loading finished goods containers onto the Lorries Reporting unsafe or suspect behaviour of drivers to the site EHS and the line Manager Directing or escorting vehicles coming on site for delivery and collection, stopping traffic as necessary. Act as a Banksman for reversing vehicles Manage heavy vehicular traffic flow to facilitate loading and unloading in a safe manner Participation in the annual stock count process Liaising with CAS, production Scheduler and Purchasing Manager regarding the issuance of delivery notes and the logistic arrangements Maintain general upkeep of the forklift trucks, including charging, replenishing battery water and reporting of faults and damages which may appear during routine checkups Housekeeping of the warehouse, the yard area and the dispatch office To ensure that all necessary Health and Safety at Work Act rules and procedures are followed What can you expect in return? 23 Days of annual leave Pension and regular Health checks On-site parking The chance to join a well-established company What’s next?
