Our client has multiple specialist sites across Northern Ireland and is highly focused on providing a reliable and predictable source of energy from waste.
Your New Role
Based on the current workload and planned future projects, an additional Mechanical Technician is needed to ensure that all operational plant equipment is running safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively using both proactive and reactive maintenance methods.
As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for all aspects of the mechanical systems, including:
1. Adhering to and working with CMMS and IMS systems' Jobplans/Method statements, Work instructions, Risk Assessments, and Safe Systems of Work.
2. Carrying out fault diagnosis on all mechanical equipment, effecting immediate repairs, and maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS.
3. Conducting risk assessments, method statements, providing self-supervision, and managing on-site contractors when required.
4. Collaborating with other site teams, disciplines, engineers, and contractors to assess and review plant performance shortfalls and how these can be rectified.
5. Analysing persistent plant breakdowns and suggesting cost-effective and efficient solutions or plant improvements.
6. Optimising existing online, offline, and non-intrusive predictive maintenance systems, and planning proactive maintenance regimes on plant with support from the Engineering Manager.
What You'll Need To Succeed
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications, and experience:
ESSENTIAL
1. Mechanical qualification to NVQ Level 3.
2. Welding experience.
3. Skilled at bench fitting and using hand and power tools.
4. Excellent Health & Safety awareness.
5. Flexible attitude to working, prepared to work outside working hours to meet business needs.
6. Willingness to contribute to on-call rota.
7. Effective communication and team working skills, with the ability to work independently.
8. Good numerical skills and a logical approach to problem-solving.
9. Capable of prioritising workload and managing time.
DESIRABLE
1. Knowledge and experience of PSSR and LOLER certification.
2. Experience in maintaining similar plant.
3. Experience of safety rules & permit to work system.
4. Experience in machinery & hydraulics.
5. Supervision of contractors.
6. Use of Maximo or similar CMMS.

For working weekly (Monday - Friday) rotating shifts of 06:00 - 15:00 and 14:00 - 23:00, you will earn a competitive salary of up to £42500 (DoE) inc. shift allowance. You will also have considerable opportunities to train and develop existing and new skills in a highly challenging environment.
