The post is for a Service Manager on a salary of £30-35k, ideally a driver due to the nature of the role and occasional visits to locations across the country. The main base will be in Nuneaton.
The role will be to support the people we assist to live in the community across a cluster of single occupancy supported living services. The majority of the individuals we support have a diagnosis of a Learning Disability and have complex health needs and behaviors that challenge.
You will be supported by the Head of Supported Living to manage the day-to-day operations of the services, including rota management, ensuring staff training, compliance with CQC standards, leading reviews, updating support plans, PBS plans, liaising with families and professionals, making regular visits to the homes of the individuals we support, and coaching and mentoring your team to achieve outcomes and high standards of care.
The Manager would be expected to participate in an on-call service, approximately one week per month.
As a Service Manager for Almond Care, you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. You will be a role model by demonstrating excellent support to those we assist, and you will help the Head of Supported Living to coach, support, and manage staff teams effectively. We provide 24/7 support to some individuals, so flexibility to work shifts on a rota basis, including nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays, is required.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
You will also have delegated responsibility for the direct supervision and line management of a team of Support Workers. Alongside the Head of Supported Living, you are responsible and accountable for monitoring, maintaining, and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery while promoting independence and choice to the individuals supported in the service. As a senior member of the team, you will promote and lead good practice, ensuring that the individuals we support and their colleagues come to no harm and that the individuals we support are satisfied with the level of support they receive by acting as an exemplary role model.
As Service Manager, you will:
* Have experience in supporting adults with complex learning disabilities.
* Have experience with Autism and Positive Behaviour Plans.
* Have good IT skills and experience of maintaining records to be successful in this role.
Leadership of Services Delivery
You will support to deliver services that provide the best life possible for individuals with learning disabilities with your support team:
* Provide lead practitioner expertise and lead the support worker team on a day-to-day basis for the designated services or activities, ensuring high standards of care and support are always maintained and that the designated services continuously improve and develop. Overall accountability for this sits with the Head of Supported Living.
* Deliver and demonstrate best outcomes to all individuals supported by Almond Care and ensure that the individuals we support are involved in shaping these using the principles of co-production.
* Work with your team to ensure that the individuals we are supporting have accurate, detailed, and person-centred support plans, one-page profiles, and person-centred reviews.
* On behalf of the Head of Supported Living, lead on ensuring a flexible and person-centred rota is always in place for the service, designed and developed to meet the needs and wishes of the individuals we support, ensuring that the support team has adequate notice of their roster pattern.
* Under the direction of the Head of Supported Living, coordinate all matters relating to medication, ensuring all procedures are rigorously followed and all support staff are appropriately trained.
* Conduct supervisions and performance appraisals with your team as designated, in line with organizational policy, and complete individual learning and development plans that address training needs and support continued professional development in conjunction with the Learning and Development team.
* Work in partnership with social workers, families, advocates, and other providers to ensure that support is provided collaboratively, with the individual we support at the centre.
