Engineering Manager EC&I – Contract Location: Hybrid - Whitehaven, Cumbria or Preston, Lancashire Job type: Contract. Full time Reports To:- Engineering and Technical Director Duration: Minimum 12 Months Rate: Negotiable Key Responsibilities: The Engineering Manager (EC&I) will be responsible for overseeing and managing the design, development, and implementation of control, electrical, and instrumentation systems for various projects, ensuring that all engineering activities comply with relevant standards, regulations, and project requirements. Lead and manage the EC&I engineering team, providing technical guidance and support. Oversee the design and implementation of control systems, power systems, and implementation systems. Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and project requirements. Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to define project scopes, deliverables, and timelines. Conduct technical reviews and assessments of engineering designs and documentation. Provide technical expertise and problem-solving support throughout project lifecycles. Ensure timely delivery of engineering tasks within budget and to the required quality standards. Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements. Develop and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices. Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to stakeholders. Participate in project planning, risk management, and change control processes. Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the engineering team and across other project teams. Qualifications: Chartered Engineer status preferred Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience in EC&I engineering, preferably within the nuclear / clean energy sector. Proven experience in managing and leading engineering teams. Strong knowledge of power systems, control systems, and instrumentation systems. Excellent understanding of industry standards and regulations. Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects from conception to completion. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound engineering decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
