We're a unique department of the University of Cambridge, core funded by Cancer Research UK's charitable activities, and we're eagerly searching for our new Senior Procurement Coordinator. With a turnover of non-staff costs in the region of £30m per annum, the role holder will work in collaboration with the Procurement Manager and other key stakeholders to execute sourcing plans and procure a diverse range of goods and services, ensuring compliance with the University regulations, and delivering value for money. The Senior Procurement Coordinator will play a key role in implementing sustainable procurement practices that contributes to the institute's financial and environmental goals. Our in-house Procurement function will be a new venture for the Institute. Our successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate in the design and implementation of new processes, as part of a team dedicated to transforming procurement practices at the Institute. For this role, we are looking for a candidate who will be able to: Identify opportunities for improvement that contribute to long-term initiatives and sustainable practices. Provide day-to-day 'first line' supervision to a small team. Execute the tendering process. Negotiate contracts. Manage suppliers. Carry out market surveys. Ensure the delivery of high-quality goods and services. Promote and provide training where necessary in the use of systems and templates for key procurement processes. Typical procurements include laboratory and research supplies, medical equipment, IT equipment, facility maintenance services, administrative and office supplies.
