Job Description
We are seeking a talented SDET to join our dynamic technical engineering team. In this exciting role, you'll leverage your quality engineering skills and experience to ensure the delivery of top-notch software across the L&G Group. You'll bring a strategic perspective to our team processes and tooling, enhancing our workflows and ultimately delivering valuable, high-quality software to our customers. Additionally, you'll coach the team and stakeholders to refine their practices, keeping quality at the forefront of everything we do.
What you'll be doing:
1. Championing the creation of high-quality, maintainable features within the engineering team, ensuring we deliver exceptional outcomes to our customers efficiently. Focusing on developing solutions that are secure, user-friendly, and accessible, providing significant business value.
2. Supervising the quality engineering strategy and operations, employing various techniques and tools to uphold Legal and General’s high standards, ensuring everything is well-documented and evidenced.
3. Collaborating with the engineering team to understand and shape business requirements, ensuring alignment and a shared vision.
4. Communicating effectively with the team and stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making and seamless integration.
5. Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to inspect and adapt, enhancing effectiveness and happiness, and supporting changes that improve processes and culture.
6. Fostering a collaborative and respectful team environment, coaching, mentoring, and supporting less experienced team members to develop and grow their skills.
7. Staying ahead of the curve by conducting ongoing research on relevant application technologies, identifying opportunities to enhance the quality process, and sharing your insights in community forums.
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
1. Deep understanding of software testing principles and best practices.
2. Essential expertise in CI/CD and associated release strategies.
3. Proficiency in Agile methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban, to drive efficient development processes.
4. Mastery of TypeScript and the JavaScript ecosystem, with strong skills in React Native and Node.js.
5. Hands-on experience with React Native Testing Library and automation tools like Detox.
6. Proven track record as an SDET or similar role, thriving in an Agile/Scrum environment.
7. Experience with leading testing frameworks such as Jest, Detox, Cypress, and Playwright.
8. Comprehensive knowledge of diverse testing techniques, including accessibility, security, end-to-end (E2E), and automation.
