About the role
To be the main staff member responsible for the progress of Telford College students on the Project Search Supported Internship programme based at Kuehne + Nagel.
Telford College are working alongside DfN Project Search and Kuehne + Nagel to run a new Supported Internship programme from September 2024. The programme is a one-year transition to work model for students aged 18 and over who are supported by an EHCP, with a learning disability or autism.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure that each student has access to appropriate work experience rotations within Kuehne + Nagel.
* Co-ordinate the delivery of a transition to work programme for young adults with a learning disability based at Kuehne + Nagel.
* Deliver the employability curriculum whilst embedding Maths and English and using job coaching techniques to support young people’s development towards employability.
* Communicate regularly with business liaison, job coach and job developer for student progress and issues and coordinate the operational meetings on site to discuss issues.
* Perform specific workplace analysis, job analysis, task analysis, and job matching activities.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Qualifications and Training
* A teacher training qualification, or commitment to successfully complete a relevant level 3 education and training qualification.
* A job coaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Level 2 qualification (GCSE A* – C or equivalent) in maths and English or a willingness to attain these qualifications with the support of the College.
Skills and Expertise
* Strong, positive interpersonal and communication skills and levels of emotional literacy.
* Ability to engage with a wide range of diverse people with varying needs.
* Ability to work independently and to adapt when delivering on pressurised tasks.
