The Role and Candidate
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Construction Project Officer to join our Construction team based in Canary Wharf. This role will support the delivery of new retail store development projects across the UK. Reporting to the Construction Project Manager, the ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable managing documentation, reporting, and coordination tasks in a project environment.
Responsibilities
* Support project planning and execution across feasibility, pre-construction, construction, and handover phases
* Prepare and maintain project trackers, schedules, and documentation to ensure accurate reporting of progress and timelines
* Assist with the review and comparison of contractor bids and quotations
* Coordinate daily communications with suppliers, landlords, designers, and contractors to follow up on action points and deliverables
* Assist with procurement coordination and delivery tracking of store fixtures and materials
* Monitor and update cost trackers and assist in expenditure reporting against approved budgets
* Schedule and participate in site visits, contractor meetings, and defect inspections
* Ensure timely collection, filing, and version control of all project-related documents and approvals
* Support quality assurance and brand compliance checks during fit-out and final handover
Required Qualifications
* 1 to 3 years of experience in construction coordination, architecture, or project support, ideally within the retail or commercial fit-out sector
* Familiarity with construction processes, basic budgeting, and reporting tools
* Excellent organisational and communication skills with strong attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with project tracking tools is a plus
* Willingness to travel throughout the UK for on-site inspections and meetings
Desirable but Not Essential
* Proficiency in CAD or design-related software
* Multi-lingual language ability (Chinese preferred)
