Service Care Legal are working on a great opportunity for an experienced Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a well-regarded local authority legal team on a n initial 3 month contract. The team is Lexcel accredited and places a strong emphasis on client care and professional development.ROLE: Commercial Contracts LawyerRATE: £50.00 to £55.00 per hour LTD (£48.46 PAYE inc., £43.24ph PAYE exc.)LOCATION: North West LondonCONTRACT: 3 months with possibility of extension Please note that this role is hybrid with 2 days per week in office.Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a full caseload of commercial contracts and procurement matters.
* Draft and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including construction and service contracts.
* Provide legal advice on contract disputes and public procurement issues.
* Support multidisciplinary corporate projects, offering advice on governance and legal risk.
* Advise senior officers and elected members on a variety of legal and regulatory matters.
* Handle data protection and FOI matters in relation to contracts and general governance.
About You:
* Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) in England & Wales with a current practising certificate.
* Previous experience working within a local government legal team is essential.
* Strong background in commercial contracts, procurement law, and public sector governance.
* Familiarity with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
* Comfortable managing a varied caseload and providing clear advice to senior stakeholders.
* Able to attend the office 2 days per week as part of a hybrid working arrangement.
