Fire Safety Project Manager – Retrospective Fire Strategy
Overview:
A leading institution is seeking an experienced Project Manager/Fire Safety Specialist to oversee the development and implementation of retrospective fire strategies for key teaching and research buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
Project & Procurement Management
* Develop and manage project plans, ensuring timely completion of fire strategies.
* Oversee site access, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Lead a procurement exercise to appoint consultants for additional buildings.
Stakeholder & Risk Management
* Act as the main liaison between Estates, Procurement, and consultants.
* Conduct client review meetings and provide regular progress reports.
* Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring smooth execution.
Deliverables & Compliance
* Ensure submission of fire strategy reports, drawings, and safety recommendations.
* Verify compliance with fire safety regulations (e.g., Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, BS 9999).
* Maintain a zero-incident record for all site activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Qualification in Project Management, Fire Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
* Certifications (desirable): PRINCE2, PMP, or CIPS.
* Proven experience managing fire safety or construction projects, including procurement.
* Familiarity with fire safety regulations and procurement processes within large organizations.
* Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
