Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for the right individual to join the Sage Project Delivery Team as Senior Finance Innovation Process Analyst with a Record to Report (R2R) specialisation. As part of the transformational programme team, the Senior Finance Innovation Process Analyst (R2R) will be responsible for providing both R2R Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and detailed Analytical support to projects and initiatives across the Finance domain.
The Senior Process Analyst will use a deep SME knowledge of R2R, coupled with their keen analytical skills to rapidly understand business problems, capture, analyse, and document project requirements, model business processes and define elegant solutions. They will leverage their experience and knowledge of best practices to drive process improvement activity at every opportunity.
This is an FTC until September 2026, hybrid working, 3 days per week based from our Newcastle office.
Summary
This role centres on providing expert knowledge in the Record-to-Report (R2R) domain. You will work closely with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to improve processes, systems, and outcomes. By leveraging your expertise, you’ll drive innovation, process improvements, and high-quality results for the business.
What I Will Be Doing
You’ll be the go-to expert in the R2R area, identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending practical solutions. You’ll lead problem-solving sessions, contribute to project documentation, and collaborate with business and IT teams to model processes and resolve challenges. With a focus on continuous improvement, you’ll advocate for innovation, provide mentorship to colleagues, and manage risks effectively. In addition, you’ll ensure smooth communication with global stakeholders and may travel occasionally to support international initiatives.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with significant R2R experience, whether in an operational or project-based role. Strong communication, influencing, and coaching skills are essential, alongside expertise in process improvement methodologies like Agile and Waterfall. You should be comfortable managing complex priorities, working within a matrix structure, and leading workshops on problem-solving and process mapping. Experience with finance ERP systems like SAP or X3 is preferred, as well as a background in business integration, transformation, or process improvement. A finance qualification (preferably CIMA) and knowledge of business modelling are desirable but not mandatory. Ideally you’re flexible, commercially savvy, and excited to drive meaningful change.
