Key Responsibilities Child Protection Assessments - Conduct Section 47 Child Protection Investigations, assessing risks, needs, and protective factors to determine appropriate interventions. Caseload Management - Hold and manage a diverse and complex caseload, including Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and court proceedings. Court Work & Legal Proceedings - Prepare high-quality court reports, care plans, and legal statements ; attend family court hearings and provide evidence as required. Multi-Agency Collaboration - Work closely with health professionals, education providers, police, and other agencies to ensure effective child safeguarding. Participate in Child Protection Conferences, Strategy Meetings, and Core Group Meetings. Family Support & Interventions - Provide direct support, interventions, and guidance to children and families, using evidence-based approaches to improve family dynamics and outcomes. Care Planning - Develop and implement care and safety plans, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices. Essential Requirements Degree in Social Work (or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Previous experience in Child Protection, Safeguarding, or similar statutory social work settings. Strong analytical, assessment, and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
