Horizon Teachers are working with an SEND School in the Croydon area that are looking to appoint Learning Support Assistants to help cover with staff absences on a long-term, full time basis starting as soon as possible, until the end of the academic year until July 2025.
The school caters for students aged 11 - 17 that have Mild Learning Difficulties, such as Autism and being non-verbal. As some of the students in this school have challenging behaviours it would be desirable if you have previous experience supporting students with SEN needs, but this isn't essential.
Being a Learning Support Assistant within this school you will need to be patient, energetic and resilient in nature and be able to be flexible with a positive attitude to create a relationship with the students. This will be a very rewarding role for the right person and will pay up to £550 per week.
What the school are looking for in their Learning Support Assistants:
Previous experience working with SEND - especially children with Autism and challenging behaviours
Moving and Handling experience is very desirable
Comfortable to lead small groups as well as working 1:1 with vulnerable students
Happy to conduct personal care
Passionate and not afraid to get hands on
Why Horizon Teachers:
