Looking for a knowledge and communication manager to work for the Client Organisation (High Speed Two Ltd) responsible for the New High-Speed Rail project in the UK. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the industry by enabling HS2 to capture and share learning and good practice aimed at making improvements not just for HS2 but the whole Construction & Infrastructure industry. This incredibly interesting and varied role involves systematically detailing the learning legacy in this once-in-a-lifetime project and communicating this across HS2 and the whole industry.
Open to candidates with knowledge & communication skills/experience who work within the Infrastructure & Construction sector, we are open to a range of backgrounds - engineering, transport, architectural, environmental, design, H&S, etc. Candidates could be current knowledge or communications managers working for clients, contractors, consultants, trade bodies, universities, research institutions, etc. We are also open to Engineers, trainers, project managers, business improvement, stakeholder managers, etc., who might have an interest and some experience in this area.
The role is a 50:50 split between Knowledge Management and Communication Management. The successful candidate will gather learnings and insights from across the industry working on the High-Speed Two programme, generating contributions through launching bespoke challenges and competitions designed to generate submissions of technical lessons learned. As a knowledge manager, you will review the abstracts and ensure the contributions are peer-reviewed by experts to ensure unique lessons learned and academic accuracy.
The second half of the role is Communication Management - sharing the lessons learned/insights with the rest of the industry through various mediums - website, press releases, Major Project Association, HS2 Podcast, industry partners, DfT & DfT companies, etc. This information must also be disseminated within HS2 to ensure the lessons learned are captured and realized.
