This company provides bespoke Automation solutions within various industries including medical and pharmaceutical sectors and has a reputation for automation excellence in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and industrial packaging.
The role
Service Engineer to provide support prior to the commissioning phase of the company's projects through to installation, as well as providing ongoing support to their customers throughout the life of their equipment.
We are looking for an experienced Service Support Engineer to join the After-Sales Team, to continue to provide first-class experience to a vast customer base and to ensure customers continue to have a positive experience post-warranty.
Responsibilities
* Site-based role who will support customers remotely to diagnose issues and rectify them in a timely manner
* Provide technical support to the after-sales team
* Responsible for supporting customers' service contracts
* Undertake work necessary for pre-service visits for the service engineer, this could include electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, or software tasks
* Assist with training and growth of service engineers
* Programme and modify control systems using PLCs, Servo drives, Robots, and other specialized controllers specific to customers' requirements
* Troubleshoot & adjust mechanical, electrical pneumatic, and controls equipment
* Fault finding operational assessment of mechanisms both in isolation and in complex performance
Skills/Qualifications Required to Apply:
* Relevant vocational training or completion of Apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical discipline
* Qualifications in Engineering and/or 5 years' experience in an electrical or mechanical environment
* Proven Electrical, Pneumatic, or mechanical experience within the Automation industry/industrial environment
* 4 plus years' experience in programming programmable LPC and human machine interfaces
* Interface HMI using software (Siemens, ABB, Allan Bradley, Mistubishi, Festo, Codeys)
* Knowledge of setting up Servos, VFDs, Remote I/O, Ethernet & Profibus networks
* Knowledge of 6 Axis robot systems is preferred
* Critical Thinking, Problem Solving ability
* Comprehensive knowledge of diagnostics, testing, and repair of electronic/electrical and mechanical systems
