Your role and responsibilities you will need to be passionate about making a difference to families, getting it right first time and putting the customer at the heart of everything that you do have a positive approach to delivering a high standard of customer service to families, schools and other services to support the school admissions and free school meals processes, offering accurate advice by telephone, email and letter processing applications for school places and free school meals providing all customers with a prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service. You will need a positive, flexible, and proactive approach with a willingness to embrace change as needed excellent communication and IT skills outstanding customer service skills with the ability to communicate with customers in a clear and sensitive manner, show empathy and resolve conflict effectively through a range of mediums including telephone, digital and written correspondence to be passionate about getting it right first time and putting the customer at the heart of everything that we do excellent organisational ability, with great time management skills allowing you to prioritise work to achieve deadlines and team objectives. The team you'll be working in a busy team who are responsible for ensuring that the local authority meets its statutory duties in terms of school admissions. This includes consulting on and determining admissions arrangements and ensuring compliance across all Suffolk schools we are very supportive of each other and work closely together to allocate school places to children and young people to community and voluntary controlled schools ensuring that applications are handled fairly, consistently and efficiently we process applications for free school meals and maintain accurate data by carrying out regular audits to validate continued entitlement, communicating with parents and schools by telephone and in writing we practice hybrid working to provide flexible working arrangements for all and also ensure that there is regular face to face contact with other team members to provide support, training and networking opportunities.
