Job Responsibilities
1. To take on careers referrals from other staff and support students, staff and/or parents where required offering advice and guidance to ensure students make well informed choices about their future.
2. To be a key contact for students seeking support with university course choices assisting with the research and decision making.
3. To support the 'HE Coordinator' through management of the compilation of predicted grades, taking them from staff, organising them, sharing with students and making adjustments when appropriate.
4. To support the 'HE Coordinator' with the identification of Oxbridge potential students and then the support given to them throughout their time in the Sixth Form.
5. To be the Careers team lead for the organisation and coordination of the Careers Fair and Education Fair in the Spring Term.
6. To be the Careers team lead for the support given to Key Stage 3 students in making their Key Stage 4 choices including collaborating with the 'Independent Careers Advisor'.
7. To be responsible for the development and organisation of Year 10 Careers Discovery and collaborating with the 'Independent Careers Advisor' to aid the success of this activity.
8. To coordinate the use of the Morrisby Careers profile by students for the benefit of them, teachers and parents.
9. To be a key coordinator of the Year 12 work placement programme including virtual work experience and in-person placements.
10. This includes compiling placement opportunities, managing the collection of information about students, coordinating student interviews and matching students with placement opportunities.
11. To provide support for curriculum related part time placements.
12. To liaise with work experience providers to ensure a quality work placement provision.
13. To allocate to the Careers team Year 12 student interviews so as to not to interfere with support for Year 13 students and any other careers-related activity.
14. To be responsible for tracking and monitoring university destinations, including the analysis of student offers and their responses.
15. To assist with the organisation of the Year 12 Employability Skills week.
16. To assist the Director of Careers and Employability with compiling student destinations.
17. To organise relevant industry placements for students on regular placements.
18. To support with the delivery of CEIAG across the whole school.
19. To assist with the coordination and delivery of all careers’ activities.
20. To maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour and to uphold the Nolan Principles.
21. To carry out other reasonable tasks from time to time as directed by the Headteacher.
Days/Hours: To be confirmed with successful candidate
Salary: Dependent on experience / Part-time (ideally 3 days), Term Time Only (plus Staff Training Days)
