The UCL Finance department is divided into 4 Directorates: Management Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Finance Business Partnering and Financial Services. They are responsible for the central management of UCL's financial performance and strategy and for the provision of services and advice.
We currently have a vacant position for an Assistant Management Accountant within the Management Accounting team, a newly created team which leads on management accounting, internal management reporting and compliance reporting to our regulators.
About the role
In this job you'll be responsible for supporting the delivery of all aspects of the University's management accounting, including cost management, cash flow management, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
This is a new and exciting role which will be fundamental in supporting finance to provide an excellent service to the University. There will be the opportunity to contribute to streamlining processes and improving the accuracy of data, supporting the wider finance team in providing better analysis, insight and support to the business.
You'll use your customer service focus to drive and deliver continuous customer service improvements including to financial systems and processes, workflows, management information and management and reporting of financial risks and issues.

About you
To do this job you'll need:
1. To be part qualified accountant actively studying for qualification, with demonstrable experience in a management accounting or finance role
2. Experience of working in a service delivery environment
3. Experience of working collaboratively in a team environment
4. Excellent data analysis and reconciliation skills
5. Excellent IT skills including advanced knowledge of Excel
