Our client, who specialises in Scottish tartan fashion, gifts and accessories, is looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic and determined individual to join their team as a Customer Assistant Apprentice. This would be a brilliant opportunity for someone who is looking for a new challenge and to support our client’s stock and dispatch teams.
Responsibilities:
1. Working with all their departments including stock and dispatch
2. Giving customers top-notch advice
3. Using their CRM to respond to customer emails in a timely manner
4. Use LiveChat to help customers choose the right garment
5. Giving customers a warm welcome and being on hand to help with any questions or queries
6. Dealing with orders/purchases
7. Dealing with payments
8. Delivering high-quality customer service
Requirements:
1. UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
2. Excellent communication skills and the ability to be part of a hardworking team.
3. A proficient understanding of Microsoft Office programs.
4. Fantastic customer service.
5. Motivated and enthusiastic.
6. Hard-working team player.
7. Great listening skills.
8. An interest in fashion and textiles is always an advantage.
9. Experience working in the retail/hospitality industry would be an advantage.

Our client is a retail business with a great reputation for providing quality fabrics, clothing and interior products in over 500 tartans through their website and retail stores. With a flagship store in Edinburgh and expansion to the USA where they opened their first international store in Albany, New York. They have a passion for Scotland honouring its heritage and pride themselves on promoting traditional textiles via creative campaigns.

Additional Information:
Hours: Working hours: Maximum 40 hours per week. They operate from 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday and are also open on Sunday. Sundays are usually worked 1 in 5 weeks on a rota basis. Weekdays are 9 am to 5 pm with one day a week 10 am to 6 pm on a rota basis.
Location: You will be located at our client’s head office in Duns. On occasion, you may have the opportunity to work in their Edinburgh store.
* 12-month fixed term contract.

Pay: £7.55-£12.21 per hour (national minimum wage)
Your training will start with a 12-18 month Digital Application Support Modern Apprenticeship, which consists of learning on the job, as well as our custom-built E-Learning platform. You will develop all the skills you need to pass your work-based assessments. Our assessors are available to provide one-to-one support and will work with your line manager to ensure you settle into your new role.
You will gain a Diploma in Digital Application Support, which is a Nationally recognised qualification and may be used to gain employment and further your career in administration.
***Please note all candidates must be 16-24 due to government apprenticeship funding and must be able to easily commute to Duns every weekday.
