Project Overview
This is a unique opportunity for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team and contribute to the delivery of complex projects from inception through to completion.
As a key member of the Construction department, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining cost plans and cost estimates for various projects, ensuring value for money and effective budget management.
Your primary focus will be on managing project budgets, ensuring that all costs are accurately tracked and reported. You will also oversee contract communication, including early warnings, project manager's instructions, and compensation events.
Responsibilities
As a Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and maintaining cost plans and cost estimates for various projects.
* Managing project budgets to ensure value for money.
* Coordinating contract communication, including notifications and instructions.
* Negotiating disputes and potential disputes through collaborative working and escalation.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A degree in a relevant engineering, construction, or business-related field.
* Previous experience in a cost engineer, contract management, or commercial role within the construction or infrastructure sectors, preferably working on projects over £10 million.
* A thorough understanding of NEC and JCT contracts, as well as web-based contract management tools.
