The role
We’re seeking a Professional Development Officer to join our thriving team and help to achieve our ambitions to drive professional standards in internal communication. We’ve experienced fantastic growth in the last few years and as we look to the future, we have more ambitions to expand our professional development offering both in the UK and internationally.
The role will be responsible for the management, administration and delivery of core aspects of the Institute’s professional development activities, including our qualifications portfolio and extended learning and development programmes.
You will build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, working with our academic partners, assessors, teachers, trainers, students, members and other stakeholders to ensure excellent learning experiences, outcomes and standards.
You will also help to drive departmental performance and growth and support the achievement of the IoIC’s strategic goals.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and organisation skills are essential for this role.
Principal responsibilities:
* Manage all aspects of the qualification programmes (i.e., Foundation Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Masters) to ensure a high standard of administration, accurate record-keeping, excellent candidate/student support and effective stakeholder management.
* Manage and maintain the quality assurance processes for the accreditation of the Institute’s qualifications by our academic partner Solent University. Ensuring that the quality standards set are met and the ongoing development of teaching, learning and content is implemented in line with recommendations and advice from all relevant stakeholders to deliver excellent learning experiences.
* Develop and expand the qualification programmes, converting strategic ambitions into operational plans and actions.
* Manage the operational planning and delivery of the Institute’s extended training programmes, ensuring excellent participant experience, supporting continuous improvement and working with key stakeholders.
* Support the Institute’s in-house training offer, including programme management and delivery.
* Maintain market awareness and identify product development and growth opportunities to ensure the IoIC owns and maintains its position as the leading provider of learning and development for internal communication.
* Support annual activity across the professional development portfolio.
* Support with professional development budgeting and ensure targets are met.
* Work with colleagues to deliver sales and marketing activities for the professional development portfolio.
* Work with colleagues to use data to drive performance, insights and development.
* Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders on professional development, academic and education matters.
* Support research and development activities for the department.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in professional development and training.
Salary: £30-33000 per annum depending on experience.
Your experience:
We’re looking for someone who has:
* Minimum 3 years’ professional development or other relevant experience (e.g. Events Production/Operations; Higher Education; Administrative)
* Excellent eye for, and attention to, detail
* Proven experience in stakeholder relationship building and management with excellent interpersonal skills
* Excellent organisation skills – ability to manage workload and differing priorities
* Self-driven and able to work independently using initiative
* Excellent communication skills
* Proactive with proven problem-solving skills
* Proficient research skills
* The ability to analyse and use data to inform decision making
* Commitment to ongoing personal development and growth.
You should be curious, creative and comfortable with proposing new ideas.
Desirable
* Understands and has worked with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
* Understanding of academic qualifications and higher education
* Membership organisation experience
* Project management experience.
