The school serves the Mid Formartine area of Aberdeenshire with 12 feeder primary schools. We are looking for a dynamic forward thinking, solution focused professional to lead our well-established team of staff within the Maths Faculty. in pursuit of Meldrum Academy’s School vision: “Working Together for Success” in all day to day practice. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated teaching staff who deliver courses designed to meet the needs of the broad range of learners within Meldrum Academy. On completion of the BGE phase, our young people have the option of a level of study that is appropriate to further advance their mathematical skill in either, Numeracy level 1 to 5, National level 1-5 Mathematics and National 4/5 Applications Maths, Higher Mathematics and Applications Maths, Advanced Higher Mathematics and Mechanics of Maths Staff within the Faculty work towards developing the skills and knowledge that students will need not only in their further education and workplace but also in their day-to-day life. Although the Faculty enjoys high levels of attainment, further improvement is always a focus, and we are receptive to new and creative ideas to enhance improvement and strive toward excellence. The Faculty collaborates with other secondary schools throughout Aberdeenshire as part of the Aberdeenshire professional support groups (PSG) as well as having positive links with our feeder Primary schools. Additionally, we have established close links with both our business and academic partners, who greatly enhance the learning experience for our young people and provide up-to-date information on labour market pathways and trends.
