Maintenance Engineer

Our client, a global manufacturer based in Stockport, is looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to help improve team & company quality, bringing the engineering department to a world-class standard.
This is a crucial role focused on supporting manufacturing maintenance performance, improving asset and equipment availability, and ensuring the required level of performance. This includes executing quality daily maintenance and repair plans in adherence to the Agility Maintenance schedule, thereby supporting manufacturing equipment Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
Main Duties:
1. Support manufacturing weekly schedule to ensure availability at the required level of performance.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of Manufacturing CNC equipment and tooling, with competence in fault diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
3. Adherence to the Agility Maintenance schedule for scheduled, planned, and reactive maintenance, maintaining manufacturing equipment OEE.
4. Analyse failure modes to create preventative maintenance regimes.
5. Record accurate feedback on completed tasks, including spare parts used, time taken, and any changes required.
6. Provide leadership and technical guidance for prompt reactive investigations in case of breakdowns or critical defects.
7. Report findings professionally, leading problem-solving activities to identify root causes and prevent re-occurrence.
8. Work closely with Line Manager to establish mean time between failure techniques and apply cost-effective mean time to repair methods.
9. Responsible for delivering robust reports/data integrity from asset inspections and maintenance, detailing identified defects.
10. Contribute to any PPS reports associated with significant downtime.
11. Flexibility to support manufacturing production requirements, delivering the weekly schedule while maximising production uptime.
12. Comprehensive SHE awareness to report any SHE issues.
Qualifications & Education:
1. Relevant Engineering Qualifications - Minimum HNC/HND.
Skills/Experience:
1. Experience in a factory/fabrication maintenance environment within a manufacturing maintenance background.
2. Leadership & problem-solving skills.
3. Experience in working in a modern lean manufacturing environment.
4. Knowledge of PLC, Inverters, and Drives with demonstrable competence in fault diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
5. Practical knowledge and experience of maintenance and machinery control systems.
6. Ability to assess SHE risks and control risks accordingly.
7. Use of PCs and capability to use common applications and company systems.
8. Basic report writing skills.
9. Ability to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions.
