Picture Researcher Location: Flexible with regular London working required 12 months Fixed Term Contract Hours: 35 hours Salary Range: £25,712 - £30,249 (plus £3,344 Inner London weighting if applicable) per annum We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Picture Researcher to join our busy and creative in-house team. This role has an exciting and varied brief. Every day you’ll support the Picture Editor and coordinate the workflow of the photo desk. We want to hear from you if you have a passion for storytelling and a keen eye for detail. You’ll work with different teams across the organisation; addressing ad hoc photography requests, promptly reacting to disasters and emergency appeals to support those in crisis. You’ll provide in-house and external photographic research, picture editing and sourcing. You’ll organise photoshoots and coordinating with photographers and uploads to our DAM (Digital Asset Management) system and our photographic digital archive (StoriesHub). You’ll assist in production workflows, including archiving, labelling, and project organisation. You’ll support with the maintenance of photographic libraries, navigating legal issues involving image licensing, permissions and privacy rights. You’ll help us maintain consistent practices and champion our ethical guidelines. About you You’re knowledgeable and skilled in working with photographic libraries to research and acquire the strongest images. You have experience of working in a picture researcher role within a publisher, agency or in house creative team. You have considerable professional experience of working on a photo desk and coordinating the setup of photography shoots. You’re well organised and can plan and manage a varied workload. You can respond to and prioritise a range of competing demands. You’re able to think creatively and explore new collaborations with the ability to liaise with photographers, colleagues and clients.
