As the Senior NPI Project Manager (NPI-PM), you will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure of New Product Introduction projects through to industrialisation.
You will become a key interface to manage internal stakeholders within the HVDC portfolio.
You must have a combination of skills including an ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions, and resolve conflicts, as well as more general management and leadership skills.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Manage integrated project teams, including sub-contractors, to deliver projects on time, on cost, and to quality.
2. Provide leadership and technical direction to the team to meet project and departmental specific objectives.
3. Define the project work breakdown structure (WBS), detail delivery plan, resources, and skill levels required to meet the delivery timescales.
4. Implement the NPI gated governance process within assigned project.
5. Hold regular team project status reviews for individual projects.
6. Update project metrics.
7. Refocus teams as necessary to ensure project requirements are met.
8. Maintain an overview of all assigned projects and communicate status with Management.
9. Hold project gate reviews in line with project timing and NPI process requirements and meet all deliverables on time.
10. Communicate with all stakeholders, liaise and report project status, issues, and actions.
11. Participate in corrective action requests, root cause analysis, and problem-solving teams related to issues affecting the project.
12. Act as the 'voice of the customer' for all their projects.
Required Skills And Qualifications
1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics).
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
3. Proven skills in managing and leading teams with an advanced technical background.
4. Project and Programme management experience within a related product technology / engineering development environment.
5. Experience in product / process development, verification, and validation techniques and tools.
6. Practical knowledge of change management, problem-solving, and Agile project management.
7. Results driven and demonstrates a sense of urgency for meeting deliverables.
8. Effectively works with changing priorities and follows up on tasks and assignments.
9. Accountable for achieving the results expected by stakeholders and customers.
10. Clear understanding of customer needs and expectations and seeks improvements in customer service.
11. Proactively responds to stakeholders in a timely manner.
