The post holder will work with the youth-led digital production team, Base Productions, sup-porting on videography and editing, creating digital content that responds to the core youth led programming and external commissions, setting a standard for our youth led materials and helping build and sustain relationships with partner organisations. The post holder will provide vital production support for the youth production team on the commissioned work as well as core work funded by grants.
On the Design aspect, the post holder will support the development of the brand identity, creating digital content that provides a clear visibility to the diverse media work produced, facilitating a growth in partnership work, attracting further commissions and supporting the recruitment of young people on to the creative programmes. Furthermore, there will be a wider responsibility in supporting the creation of digital media content for the wider Octavia provision, cultivating a forward-thinking digital portrait of the dynamic work Octavia does in the community and for our residents. Content includes video capturing and editing, photography, basic animation and graphic design.
This role is until March 2026 and is based in The Reed.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing lead videography for Base Productions, responding to briefs set by external commissions and internally by the Communications team, working towards strict dead-lines, reaching the aspirational ambitions to deliver excellent youth led digital content
* Providing video editing for youth led core projects and commissioned projects. This will include assistant editing for Creative Producer, offline editing and colour grading. The specific editing requirement will be dependent on the project and will be established by the Creative Producer
* Supporting the Creative Producer with liaising with existing external partners, helping maintain valuable relationships and continued potential future work
* Supporting the Creative Producer to identify potential collaborators, facilitators and new partners, to help inform the wider strategy of the creative production schedule
* Provide video and digital arts content for the Communications team, supporting the wider objectives of Octavia, working within Octavia’s branding guidelines and using aspirational marketing to reach the wider community and our residents
* Photographing events and activities to a good standard, creating ongoing materials that present the inspiring work of Octavia
* Attend our weekly professional approaches film workshops, working with the group to develop ideas in response to purposeful briefs and supporting their development of their skills, being an active part of their learning and production process
* Providing the Creative Producer with production support for the core young people’s film projects and commissioned work, helping with casting, location scouting and scheduling as well as supervising shoots
* Developing and maintaining in collaboration with the Creative Producer the Digital identity for the youth led production company Base Productions, creating a brand that will ap-peal to young people and potential partners
* Overseeing the digital output for Base Productions through our social media channels, maintaining interactions with relevant stake holders
Requirements

Experience
* Working towards a brief that has very specific requirements, working within strict deadlines
* Experience of ensuring team members value the diversity of those they work with and integrating people of different backgrounds into teams effectively
* Experience of working with and supporting young people, particularly those aged 13-25 years
* Building a consistent brand identity that reaches its aimed primary target audience whilst also having the flexibility to reach secondary audiences
Knowledge
* A knowledge of the different forms of video content (promo content, narrative film, social media, documentary) and how to effectively create within the boundaries of those forms
* Sufficient understanding of the pre-production process in film, with some experience in either locations scouting, scheduling or casting
* Awareness of how media production schedule works, understanding the different stages, from pre-production, to production, to post
* An awareness of what is on trend within the digital space, with an ability to effectively used this knowledge to engage and reach a range of audiences
* A strong grasp of social media trends and brand tone and how to effectively interact with stake holders and services users on a range of platforms
Skills
* Strong grasp of the Adobe Cloud, with an excellent skill level on Premiere Pro, Photoshop and illustrator and with a willingness to learn other software
* Strong technical skills on film-making and digital media equipment, with an ability to use a range of devices such as the Black Magic Camera, Dji Ronin, Radio Mic set up
* A strong communicator with a confidence to engage with range of people both in person and online
* Excellent design skills, with a strong grasp of composition and colour
