NRL’s Engineering client is looking to recruit a Project Planner on a permanent staff basis on their site in Somerset. The Project Planner is required to provide project planning duties on the Mechanical & Electrical installation works within the turbine hall of HPC Nuclear New Build Mega Project.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain schedules for design / engineering / construction / commissioning
- Develop and maintain progress databases
- Progress reporting including production of Weekly and Monthly reports
- Milestone projections, delay / float path analysis
- Recording delay and disruption
- Earned Value Management
- Monitoring schedule performance and productivity
- Site progress verification, including incorporating quality assessments
- Attending schedule meetings, liaising with client and subcontractors
- Preparation of tender schedules
- Preparation of histograms
- Leading planning meetings and weekly work planning systems
- Resource / cash loading of schedules
- Providing data for payment applications
- Completing contract review reports
- Responsibility for quality and accuracy of schedules and reports
- Making relevant parties aware of issues and advising on solutions

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- A good analytical approach
- Sound IT skills including Primavera P6, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Work on own initiative and proven ability to prioritise workload and problem solve
- Self-motivated & able to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Good Communication Skills including the ability to build good working relationships with other staff and other teams within UK Power Networks
- Ability to chair meetings both with internal and external stakeholders
- Previous experience of construction projects
- Ideally a third level degree in a construction-related field
- Proficient in all MS Office packages, with advanced level MS Excel
- Excellent organisational and project planning skills
- Excellent negotiation & problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a team & work on own initiative
- Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player with ability to build effective relationships at all levels
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well within a friendly team
