Job Title: Area Sales Manager - Timber and Construction Products
Industry Sector: Sawn timber, carcassing timber, construction timber, pallet wood and packaging material timber, Canadian lumber, machined whitewoods, saw milling, decking and fencing timber
Area to be covered: North and Midlands
Basic Salary: DOE Neg.

The role of the Area Sales Manager - Timber and Construction Products will involve:
1. Field sales position, selling a manufactured range of sawn timber including carcassing timber, pallet wood and packaging material timber, Canadian lumber, machined whitewoods, saw milling, block wood, kiln dried decking and fencing timber.
2. Selling into builders merchants, timber merchants and buying groups.
3. Building relationships and managing existing portfolio of clients.
4. Dealing with order values from £12k - £250k.
5. Taking over an established region with over 200 active accounts.
6. Four and a half days on the road visiting customers, half a day working from home/admin.
7. Working to a 6-12 week journey plan depending on the value of accounts.
8. Responsible for 100m cubic meters of materials.
The ideal applicant will have:
1. Proven field sales track record, selling timber (or related) building materials to builders merchants, timber merchants or buying groups.
2. Experience selling to national, regional and independent merchants, particularly dealing with buying groups and buying group members.
3. Experience dealing with order values up to £250k.
4. Strong interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work autonomously.
6. Excellent relationship-building and account development skills.
