Priory Hospital Burgess Hill has a new and exciting opportunity for you to join our Team; in September 2023 we opened a third ward which is a 10 bedded male adult PICU.

The successful candidate will manage the Occupational Therapy team and its resources, taking appropriate action to ensure that standards of care are exceptional.

Job description
Job responsibilities
1. Co-ordinating and managing on a day-to-day basis the effective operation of the Occupational Therapy Service, reflective of agreed contact targets
2. Leading on the planning and delivery of multi-disciplinary therapeutic patient activity programmes across the hospital.
3. Provide clinical support and professional supervision to the occupational therapy team
4. Providing specialist clinical interventions led by evidence based practice to enhance patients recovery and sense of wellbeing through engagement in occupation
5. Collaborating with External agencies to maintain links with community activities and Patient social inclusion programs: Koestler Trust, community art festivals.
6. Conveying the strategic development of the service in line with Care Quality Commission, Governance, National Care Standards & Professional Specific Agendas, in collaboration with the Regional Head Occupational Therapist.

Role Requirements
Essential
8. Degree or post-graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy
9. Minimum of 3 years experience of working in mental health (ideally within an inpatient setting)
10. Currently working in at least a Band 6 or 7 role (a lead or head of department role is desirable)
11. Current and valid registration with HCPC
12. Experience of supervising or line managing staff
13. Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
14. Proven experience of leading and facilitating individual / group sessions
