We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Midwife with strong clinical leadership and facilitation skills, who will lead on improving the standard of risk assessment and fetal monitoring in line with element 4 of the Saving Babies' Lives 2 Care Bundle and safety action 8 of CNST.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a highly visible champion for safe and effective fetal heart rate interpretation through demonstration of expert clinical knowledge and practice. Education and training of maternity staff is a fundamental element of this post. The role will support our physiological approach to fetal monitoring applied to intelligent intermittent auscultation and continuous electronic fetal monitoring.
The Fetal Monitoring Midwife will be a member of our Maternity Faculty for Multiprofessional Education. They will be mentored by a consultant obstetrician and midwife with advanced expert skills in fetal monitoring and work in partnership with the Labour Suite Lead Midwives and Consultants in ensuring that care provided to mothers and babies is both safe and effective.

Qualifications and training
* Registered Midwife
* SSA/Mentorship sign off
* Masters
Clinical skills and experience
* Midwifery care with a minimum of three years at band 6
* All-round Midwifery clinical experience / can demonstrate credible midwifery knowledge
* Excellent presentation skills
* Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners
* Experience of fetal physiology
* Intelligent Intermittent Auscultation; use of twin fetal monitoring
* Up-to-date knowledge base relating to midwifery clinical evidence-based practice
* Baseline knowledge of issues affecting the service, Trust, and wider NHS
* Evidence of further fetal monitoring studies
