About the role
The position is the Local H&S Team Leader and will provide technical safety and health support for all aspects of the plant. This includes the development and implementation of programs and objectives and day-to-day support for safety and health initiatives for all areas.
Main Accountabilities
1. This position has 3 direct reports: a Safety administrator, a Safety Specialist, & Safety coordinator.
2. Accountable for the performance management and personnel development of your department. Responsible for developing clearly defined goals and objectives for the safety department. Responsibilities also include performance evaluations & career development of the direct reports.
3. Preparing, implementing, and positively promoting H&S Management Systems.
4. Reviewing H&S performance to ensure company objectives and expectations are met.
5. Involving all employees in the relevant H&S plans for activities and services.
6. Assessing the existence and effectiveness of H&S plans through audits and reviews.
7. Reviewing and tracking corrective actions for all incidents, defects, hazards, inadequacies of procedures and suggested improvements.
8. Actively handling workplace injury claims, including reporting incidents, coordinating medical treatment, communicating with injured employees, and working with insurance companies to ensure proper benefits are provided while aiming to minimize costs and promote a swift return to work for the employee.
9. Implementing leadership requirements specified in the H&S Management Standards.
10. Lead safety teams and Incident Investigations.
11. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of applicable safety requirements.
What you bring to us:
1. Bachelor's degree in related field, CSP preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in process/food industrial environment.
3. Previous safety management experience.
4. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
5. Experience in root cause investigation techniques.
6. Knowledgeable of Safety Compliance is preferred.
7. Safety Systems familiarity (i.e., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar) is preferred.

Total Rewards
The annual pay range estimated for this position is $120,551.20 - $150,689.00 and is bonus eligible. Please note that while this range reflects the full spectrum of compensation available for this role, individual compensation will be determined based on several factors including your experience, skills, and alignment with the role's responsibilities. During the interview process, there will be an opportunity to discuss how your background fits into the pay range.
