Project Engineer – Power Electronics

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our dynamic Vehicle Electrification Team. The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Manager – Powertrain and be based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.
This role involves working on Power Electronics Systems project engineering, specification, and integration of high voltage electronic components into the overall vehicle architecture. Key systems include DCDC Converters, On Board Chargers, Inverters, and HV junction boxes.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of HV Electronics or component delivery within an automotive engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:
* Perform in-house expert duties for power electronics systems, including documentation and roadmap development.
* Review product specifications to identify areas for optimisation and improvement.
* Work with stakeholders to identify solutions and projects that contribute to the success of the vehicle programme.
* Manage technical deliverables, project plans, and open issues decks for assigned systems.
* Realise vehicle features using carry-over, modified, and new components in collaboration with other function groups.
* Ensure correct location and packaging of power electronics components according to vehicle requirements.
* Specify and develop design features and functions in conjunction with technical partners and suppliers.
* Participate in system review, verification, and validation activities, including leading FMEAs and ISO26262 compliance.

Requirements:
* SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCE IN HV ELECTRONICS OR COMPONENT DELIVERY WITHIN AN AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING ENVIRONMENT.
* Demonstrable understanding of High Voltage Electrical architectures and underlying principles and technologies.
* Experience of project engineering with Tier 1 suppliers, preparation of project documentation and reports, risk management, mitigation, and recovery planning.
* Working knowledge of associated systems such as MGUs, Batteries, and Charging Systems.
* Experience of system/component delivery within APQP, six sigma, or similar framework.
* Ability to communicate the requirements of the vehicle programme to a supplier and manage cost/benefit/compromise when adapting and enhancing existing and new technologies.
* Possession of a Mechanical, Control Systems, Automotive, or similar honours engineering degree.
* Full driving licence is essential.
