Role: Electrical Project Engineer
Location: Chelmsford (Hybrid working with site attendance as required)
Salary: Up to £60,000 p/a + benefits package
An exciting opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer to join a leading contractor engaged with multiple UK water authorities across the South of England. This role offers the chance to manage MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation) aspects of large-scale water industry projects, from initial feasibility to final handover.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Leadership: Oversee MEICA components of water industry projects, guiding them through design, installation, commissioning, and asset takeover.
2. Engineering Design Support: Contribute to and review engineering designs, ensuring high standards across all project stages.
3. Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with water companies, principal contractors, and subcontractors to align on project goals and delivery.
4. Subcontractor Management: Coordinate and supervise subcontractors on-site to ensure adherence to project specifications.
5. Commissioning Oversight: Manage commissioning activities and maintain accurate commissioning documentation.
6. Stakeholder Meetings: Participate in meetings with key stakeholders to keep projects on track and maintain alignment.
Candidate Profile:
Ideal candidates will have a degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Instrument & Control Systems Engineering. Key qualities include initiative, enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a drive for continuous improvement.
