The main school site is in Wigston and we also have inclusion units at Thistly Meadow Primary School (Blaby), Little Hill Primary School (Wigston), Thomas Estley Community College (Broughton Astley) and a purpose built Senior Department based in Countesthorpe. Job Information: We currently have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant with Lead Healthcare and Medication Responsibilities to be based at our Senior Site in Countesthorpe. This is a class-based role with additional responsibility to draw, deliver, record and account for medication for students within the scope of legal requirements, and on a day-to-day basis outside of normal classroom duties. Suitable training will be given including Handling of Medication which would provide you with knowledge in order to assist in maintaining protocols and administrating medication, which may include prescribed emergency medication and booking in / safe storage or emergency medication. You will need to keep accurate records of work carried out in this role. Alongside the enhanced duties you will be assigned to a class team as a Teaching Assistant. You will be an integral member of a class team and will work under the direction of a teacher and Senior Teaching Assistant, supporting groups of students across a class and department.
