Are you a CORE Engineer with a passion for innovation and a drive to make a difference in the Utilities industry? Our client, a leading organisation in the field, is seeking a talented individual like you to join their team as a CORE Engineer on a temporary basis for 6 months.
CORE Engineer
6 months (extension options)
Ebbw Vale, South Wales.
Rate £500 per day (via Umbrella)
As a CORE Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work alongside the existing CORE team, contributing to exciting innovation projects and actively participating in the development of CORE engineering resources. Your role will be crucial in adding value to our client's organisation and expanding their capabilities and expertise in operational technologies (OT) and cyber disciplines.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Bring valuable expertise and support to our client's organisation, playing a critical role in the development and growth of their CORE team.
2. Possess a detailed understanding of Safe Control of Operations (SCO/91) and Electrical Safety Rules (EL/96) and be authorised as an Authorising Engineer for all asset types.
3. Manage programme documentation to ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulatory requirements.
4. Mentor and provide technical guidance to CORE technicians, in line with regulations and our client's policies and procedures.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective and timely response to queries, escalating when necessary and ensuring corrective actions are taken by the delivery units and project team.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
1. Detailed understanding of Safe Control of Operations (SCO/91) and Electrical Safety Rules (EL/96) authorised as an Authorising Engineer.
2. Strong understanding of legislative requirements and company standards.
3. Extensive knowledge of high-pressure gas transmission pipeline systems, terminals, compressor stations, power stations, and industrial offtakes.
4. Proficient in Control & Instrumentation equipment installed on high-pressure gas transmission systems.
5. Competent against Safety & Technical Competency Framework for the role.
6. Strong leadership, influencing, and customer orientation skills.
7. Experience in managing instrumentation in an OT environment.
8. Familiarity with the NGT operating model.
9. Field experience on gas operational sites.
10. Cybersecurity experience.
