About The Role
* As part of the Group Finance Team, the Head of Reporting and Tax is responsible for delivering the group's consolidated and subsidiary financial statements, advising on complex technical accounting matters and the production of Tax returns and compliance with Tax regulation.
* Will lead and be accountable for the production of the interim and year-end consolidated public accounts ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting policies and standards, managing the timeline and collection of the information required from various teams across the firm, and owning the relationship with the external audit team to ensure a seamless audit process.
Key Responsibilities
* Producing the consolidated results and financial statements, managing both upwards and downwards effectively to ensure all deadlines are met. * Subject matter expert in technical accounting including IFRS 9.
* Preparing technical accounting papers - in particular relating to acquisitions, disposals, new business areas and new accounting standards.
* Presenting technical accounting papers to Board Audit Committee.
* Responsible for the preparation of the Groups Tax Returns (with assistance from external outsource providers), SAO and compliance with all tax legislation.
Required Knowledge and Experience
* Extensive financial services experience and expert knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements.
* Technical accounting knowledge (IFRS) and Tax.
* Ability to interpret complex and detailed accounting, tax or regulatory requirements and apply them to the Group's circumstances.
* Able to clearly explain technical areas such as accounting judgements to the Board and its committees, thereby ensuring informed buy-in.
* Ability to discuss and negotiate complex issues with parties such as auditors, tax authorities or regulators.
Qualifications
* Accounting qualification: ACA, ACCA or CIMA, and 5-7 years post qualification.
