ABOUT THE ROLE
The Reporting Team enables faster and better decision-making, helping us serve more customers with continuously improving solutions. We ingest data from multiple sources into a centralised data infrastructure, combine it to generate meaningful reports, and deliver powerful insights.
We are building a greenfield data platform from the ground up, a key initiative that will support Beamery's ambition to provide best-in-class self-service capabilities around reporting and underpin our AI strategy. You'll be instrumental in extracting, modelling, and analysing large volumes of data from a variety of sources, using cutting-edge data processing and analytics tools.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AT BEAMERY
1. Build and Shape a Cutting-Edge Data Platform: Own the architecture and development of a world-class data platform using top-notch tech. Lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance pipelines and storage solutions to power analytics, data science, and data-driven decisions.
2. Lead and Mentor Data & Software Engineers: Be the go-to technical leader, mentoring engineers at all levels. Set best practices for coding, data modelling, and pipeline design, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
3. Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to understand and meet data needs. You'll not only make data available but also find opportunities to improve products and processes using insights.
4. Turn Requirements into Action: Translate complex data needs into actionable plans, setting clear milestones and deliverables. Own project outcomes, keep stakeholders updated, and adapt as needed.
5. Influence Business & Technical Decisions: Use your expertise to help shape the strategy for Beamery’s data platform. Make informed recommendations to drive growth and ensure scalability while guiding key business and tech decisions.
6. Play a pivotal role in cultivating a vibrant company culture: Champion creativity by fostering a welcoming atmosphere where team members are empowered to openly share their thoughts and innovative ideas.
7. Participate in company-wide initiatives: Engage in learning & development opportunities, such as tribes, hackathons, and programs like Women in Engineering, to foster a diverse and inclusive culture.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
Software engineering experience implementing and maintaining backend systems to build reliable data infrastructures covering some of the following concepts:
* Data storage technologies (SQL / NoSQL)
* Back-end engineering (NodeJS / Python / Java)
* Data Pipelines
* Data Modelling & Transformation (dbt)
* Monitoring & Alerting
* Infrastructure as code (Terraform)
* Containerisation (K8's)
