The Hewitt Centre is a large fertility unit and one of the leading fertility clinics in Europe. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, and caring Health Care Assistant to join our team.
The role will include:
1. Assisting the registered nurse in the care of patients undergoing fertility investigations and treatment.
2. Carrying out assigned tasks as delegated by the registered nurse, including acting as a chaperone during medical examinations or procedures and/or ultrasound scans.
3. Undertaking routine clerical duties.
4. Familiarizing yourself with the HFEA code of practice and Hewitt Centre standard operating procedures.
5. Having venepuncture skills to take blood from patients attending the clinic.
6. Preparing and tidying rooms prior to and following procedures.
7. Dealing with phone queries and participating in the phone service provided by nursing staff, redirecting to relevant departments as required.
8. Checking case notes and booking patients' treatment.
9. Completing all necessary direct data inputting required by HFEA.
10. Requesting patient follow-up appointments as directed by nursing or medical staff.
11. Assisting with general administrative duties (e.g., dealing with mail, photocopying).
12. Filing laboratory reports, charts, and documents as required.
13. Keeping work areas and equipment clean and tidy in line with Health & Safety policies.
14. Preparing and serving light refreshments to patients following oocyte collections.
15. Assisting with the maintenance of ward stock and putting away ward stores.
16. Inputting data onto the hospital and IDS system.
17. Preparing case notes for clinic appointments.
18. Establishing a good relationship with staff and volunteers.
19. Complying with all departmental standard operating procedures as appropriate.
20. Being prepared to work at the Liverpool site or within any of the satellite or transport centres as required.
