Job Description:
The role will be based in our Oxford office, which opened a couple of years ago and is growing fast. You will be integral to our strategy for the Thames Valley region and will be involved in cross-regional and national projects, with a focus on the 'Golden Triangle' of London, Oxford, and Cambridge.
You will have the opportunity to work with major industry firms and utilize AI technology for bespoke drafting. Current focuses include MMC and ESG, emphasizing how the construction and engineering industry can help achieve the nation's net zero targets.
You will work as part of a great team with excellent support from our executive assistants and regular training from our in-house senior legal advisor, Alison Garrett. You will also participate in business development activities, including contributing to construction blogs, training seminars, and thought leadership reports.
We pride ourselves on outstanding client service and delivering cost-effective advice. You will help scope and agree on project costs and ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.
Under supervision, you will assist with:
* Drafting amendments to standard forms like JCT and NEC
* Advising on construction obligations in property documents
* Bespoke drafting of appointments, warranties, guarantees, bonds, and other documents
* Negotiating with project parties
* Reviewing or drafting sub-contracts and warranties
* Bespoke drafting of purchase orders and vesting agreements
* Assisting with due diligence in corporate, real estate, and funding areas
* Drafting advice reports and conducting legal research
* Supporting our clients' in-house legal teams
Experience required
You should have 5+ years PQE with a background in construction work post-qualification.

* Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
* Enthusiastic, proactive, and flexible
* Experience in providing quality client care
