Job Title Calibaration Lab Manager Location(s) GSK Stevenage (UK) – Customer Site Job Description Summary: We are looking for a highly motivated Manager who will be the first level of escalation for the overall team. This onsite leadership role is responsible for positioning the team to provide the best laboratory support service to research groups and enable a smooth facilitation and function of the working environment. Job Responsibilities Act as first-line supervisor to team members and provide coaching, performance reviews, regular 1 on 1 meets and other administrative functions. The leader will also interface with PerkinElmer Leadership to ensure key customer contacts and customer satisfaction is at a high-level. Lead the calibration laboratory Team to ensure the delivery of uninterrupted service to the customers. To accomplish this, the individual must drive operational excellence by strategically managing resources as well as identifying areas of improvement. Work in accordance with all regulations and requirements for each customer site and/or department following GxP guidelines for ways of working and process documentation. Responsible for the coordination of training of the calibration lab team Ensure adequate planning and coordination of team coverage to meet customer needs and achieve established operational metrics (e.g., PTO, Sick) Act as a liaison between on-site staff and management to escalate critical issues. Attend floor/building oversight meetings. Facilitate regular LIS meetings/huddles. Participate in the interview panel for all hires. Plan and execute continuous improvement projects within the team, including mentoring. Work with the Regional Leader and Admin staff to ensure all KPI/ SLAs are met addressing any documentation issues that may have an adverse effect. To provide a general induction/orientation for new members of staff and visitors. Support for infrastructure, engineering, purchasing, IT and other service providers; reporting of faults and ensuring these are closed out in a timely manner, i.e. to act as a single point of contact and help ensure minimal disruption. Collaborate with Employee Health and Safety (EHS) to ensure a high level of safety is maintained in the lab. Provide timely communication to lab users on any impact of site work. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Scientific instrumentation / Metrology techniques Experience of a wide range of metrological techniques, reviewing and building measurement uncertainty Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 quality standards Experience working in a Pharmaceutical or regulated environment. Knowledge of 5S and/or 6 sigma principles is a plus.
