Job summary
The Palliative and end of life care teams across Somerset Foundation Trust are seeking to appoint an experienced Personal Assistant to cover Maternity leave. This is a fixed term post and secondment could be considered.
We are seeking a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills to work alongside our existing PA's. The post holder will provide comprehensive and efficient secretarial and administration services to members of the Palliative Care service, which includes the Palliative care Medical Team, palliative care teams based at 2 acute Hospital sites, Musgrove Park Hospital and Yeovil District Hospital, and the End-of-Life education team, all of which are part of the Primary Care and Neighbourhoods service group.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
The post holder will be a key member of the Palliative care teams across Somerset FT and duties will be wide and variable. Responsibilities will include arranging and organising meetings, drafting agendas, taking minutes, and distributing these in a timely and efficient manner.
The role will also include audio typing of clinic letters, typing of other letters and reports, arranging clinic appointments, dealing with telephone enquiries, and managing diaries and documents. The ability to organise and prioritise own workload is key to this role.
Responsibility for providing a PA role to the Supportive and Palliative Care inpatient teams based at both YDH and MPH Teams to ensure that high standards are maintained in terms of quality and output and that an excellent patient experience is provided at all times. To use own initiative and work without immediate supervision.
This is a county-wide service so the post holder will require a degree of flexibility and may be asked to work from other areas from time to time, such as St Margaret Hospice in Taunton or Yeovil, or Musgrove Park Hospital, as required to meet the needs of the service.
The post holder is required to maintain the Trust values and core standards and to lead by example.
