As a Specification Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain relationships with consultants and end users, driving sales of distribution and power transformers.
Working closely with the Heads of Sales & Marketing, you will identify growth opportunities and play a key role in expanding the company’s market presence.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing team to identify and target growth opportunities.
Develop and manage new and existing accounts, maximizing sales and providing exceptional customer service to consultants and end users.
Conduct market analysis to identify potential customers in key sectors.
Coordinate with internal engineering and marketing teams to provide accurate transformer specifications.
Organize and present CPD seminars, as well as other "lunch and learn" events.
Meet personal sales targets and KPIs, contributing to overall sales goals for distribution transformers.
Review customer enquiries and project specifications to ensure alignment with company offerings.
Utilize CRM tools to manage new opportunities and communicate with the tendering department for quotations.
Provide accurate and timely quotations, collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders as needed.
Prepare annual business and account plans for key customers, focusing on sales strategy and marketing support.
Manage day-to-day customer requirements, addressing technical and commercial queries.
Maintain CRM databases to capture essential information for efficient sales management.
Attend pre- and post-order meetings at both customer sites and company offices.
Review customer terms and conditions, ensuring the company’s commercial interests are protected.
Collaborate with departments such as tendering, contracts, engineering, production, and accounts to ensure customer satisfaction.
Attend and present at client meetings, company events, exhibitions, and CPD seminars across the UK and internationally, as required.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience: Proven sales experience within the Electrical Power Supply sector or a technical manufacturing/supply sector.
In-depth knowledge of the Electrical Power Sector – essential.
Electrical engineering background or qualification – essential.
Previous sales experience in a specification role – desirable.
Strong ability to build rapport with customers and a hunger for success.
Confident, dynamic personality with excellent communication skills at all levels.
Positive, proactive, and forward-thinking attitude.
Full UK driving licence.
Flexibility for UK and occasional international travel.
