We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, positive and highly motivated Special Needs Assistant to join our caring, hard working KS1 team for 5 mornings a week. You will have a good understanding of young children and their learning and be a strong team player. This position will be classroom based and will work with special needs children. The position is fixed term to 31st July 2025 (with potential to be extended depending on pupil cohort and funding). It is to start w/c 16th December if possible, working 5 mornings a week from 8.45 - 12.15 (17.5 hours a week), term time only (39 weeks a year). We are looking for an SNA who:Will build a strong relationship as a trusted adult with the individual children and understands how to support their emotional wellbeing Will provide excellent support to the teachers, enabling the child to achieve at their highest standard - embedding a love of learning for every child and creating citizens for life. Helps to make learning fun by supporting a creative, innovative and challenging curriculum, enhanced by our stimulating learning environment. Helps to challenge and stretch the child at an appropriate level to ensure they achieve their best. Shows initiative, is quick thinking, attentive and can work independently Has a positive, can do attitude and approach to managing behaviour and helps create confident learners.
Has the ability to be pro-active with adapting activities to a bespoke and differentiated level Is active and mobile Will safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and follow school policy and the staff code of conduct
Has a good level of general education including English and Maths at GCSE grade C/4 or above or the equivalent. Has a love of life and promotes happiness in all they do!
